Dear Parent/Guardian(s),
Welcome back! I hope everyone had a wonderful summer vacation! My name is Dr. Eleanor Murray-Edison, the proud new Principal of Nevin Avenue Elementary School. On behalf of our wonderful staff and faculty at Nevin, I want to welcome all of you to the 2022-2023 school year! I hope all of our families and students had a restful summer break.
As the principal, I look forward to continuing our efforts with promoting a positive school climate, addressing social emotional needs and student wellness to promote academic excellence. I am a true believer that effective teaching and excellent attendance leads to academic achievement with discipline, hard work and high expectations. We have so many celebrations and new adventures ahead of us, and I am very proud to be leading this work with all of you. I am looking forward to us working together as a Nevin Knight!

¡Bienvenido(s)! ¡Espero que todos hayan tenido unas maravillosas vacaciones de verano! Mi nombre es Dra. Eleanor Murray-Edison, estoy orgullosa de ser la nueva directora de la Escuela Primaria Nevin Avenue. ¡En nombre de nuestro maravilloso personal y facultad en Nevin, quiero darles la bienvenida a todos al año escolar 2022-2023! Espero que todas nuestras familias y estudiantes hayan tenido unas vacaciones de verano reposado.
Como directora, espero continuar con nuestros esfuerzos para promover un clima escolar positivo, abordar las necesidades sociales y emocionales y el bienestar de los estudiantes para promover la excelencia académica. Soy un verdadero creyente de que una enseñanza efectiva y una excelente asistencia conducen al logro académico con disciplina, trabajo arduo y altas expectativas. Tenemos tantas celebraciones y nuevas aventuras por delante, y estoy muy orgulloso de liderar este trabajo con todos ustedes. ¡Espero que trabajemos juntos como un Caballero de Nevin!

Nevin Avenue Elementary has served the community of South Central Los Angeles since 1919. We are proud to be known as the Nevin Knights. In 2016, we were extremely proud to be recognized by the California Department of Education as a Gold Ribbon School.
